Living A Peace Filled Life: A How To Guide

Well here you are looking for a tangible plan for daily living. Here it goes. Every morning is a new chance to state your intention and resolve to stick with it. Through my experience using a mantra or affirmation first thing in the morning helps give my intention power.

Try this. For 40 mornings recite the same affirmation or mantra 108 times. This is a tried and true method that has been around thousands of years. There is special meaning in the numbers if you choose to look into it further. Look online for words that speak to you. Anything that does not resonate, leave it. Use a mala necklace or a rosary to assist you. Trying to count and repeat is too much and defeats the purpose. After the 40 days assess if you want to keep these words or if it is time for something new.

Next, upon rising, take three deep inhales and exhales. Breathing in peace, breathing out peace. It is too much to ask for a specific outcome of any given day. Accepting peace in our hearts with whatever the day brings allows us to participate with mindfulness. We are less apt to be controlled by our emotions. From here, communication is more fluid and harmonious. Stress will start to become less. Grace begins to fill you.

Now you are ready to leave your bed. My suggestion is to get cleaned up first. Bring your awareness to your body and offer thanks to the wonderful temple your spirit is housed in. Our bodies offer indicators to those whispered lessons. Tension, strain, pain, and tightness are messages to us to listen. What in our environment is causing it? After contemplating the possibilities let it fall away. You are open to recieving the answers so they will come to you as the day progresses.

Before you eat do some stretching, yoga, or take a walk outside. This brings a balance between our breath and movement. Throughout our waking hours we need this balance to effectively co create. If you want to do more rigorous exercise, do it before you get cleaned up :) I reccomend doing the more intense activity after work and before dinner. A discharge and realigning of energy occurs so you can have a more relaxed evening.

Ah, now it is bedtime. What a beautiful day. Clean up with awareness. Reflect on the day. Gather impressions. Again do stretching or yoga to prepare for the evenings rest. Take three deep inhales and exhales. Breathing in peace and breathing out peace. Place your head on the pillow and go to bed smiling knowing that was a day well spent.
